In recent time, lots of apps have been developed to spy on people’s WhatsApp conversations. Aside from the spy apps, some friends, colleague, and family members always want to invade our privacy and read our messages. If you want to prevent the spy apps and people from seeing your messages on WhatsApp, then you would love to use WhatsApp secret chatting.
The WhatsApp secret chatting functionality isn’t a pre-configured on the regular WhatsApp app; it is a functionality you can enable on your phone using an app called Kibo. With the app, you can send secret messages to people and hide your chats and conversations from being read by invaders when they access your phone.
Kibo, the WhatsApp Secret Chatting App
As it has been stated above, Kibo is the app that allows the use of the WhatsApp secret chatting. The app is strictly a keyboard app; however, it was designed to help hide confidential information, so that your privacy is kept secret.
Because Kibo is a keyboard app, it functions on other message apps such as Facebook Messenger, iMessage, Skype and the like.
How Kibo Works
It is not that Kibo would prevent your WhatsApp conversations from being seen. Instead, your conversations would be converted into some coded preset phrases so that any invaders that see and read the chats wouldn’t understand. Even if someone installs a WhatsApp spy app on your phone and then gets to see your chats, the person wouldn’t understand your chats when they see them, because of the WhatsApp secret chatting of Kibo.
The Kibo app use preconfigure phrases to code your chats and thereby making the chats to be meaningless to the spy.
Aside from the fact that the app converts the chats to secret codes, the notifications that normally show up when messages enter are also coded, too. So, in no way an invader or spy can get to see your WhatsApp chats in the real format.
Now that you know how the WhatsApp secret chatting app works, let’s go through how to use it on your phone.

At the moment, Kibo is only available on the iPhone. The Android version of the app is in the making and should be released soon. To download the iOS version of the app, proceed to this link. Once the Android version of the app is released, the link to downloading it will be shared here.

Sending Secret Messages Using Kibo
After the app has been installed, you can start using its WhatsApp secret chatting feature. Open your Whatsapp and type the message you want to make a secret. Then tap on the lock icon beside the space button.
Once you have tapped on the lock icon, your typed messages would be replaced with vanilla messages, which can be modified to statement of your choice.
After the messages have been modified, tap on Send on WhatsApp to send the messages. The receiver of your WhatsApp messages would get the real messages; however, on your phone, the messages would show coded fake messages.
Just as you use the Kibo app to modify the original texts you want to send to another person, you can use the app to modified images, too.
Reading Coded Messages of the WhatsApp Secret Chatting
With the Kibo keyboard, locked messages are code as vanilla and unreadable, and both the sent and received chats are coded. So, to read coded messages, follow these steps.
- Copy the received message to your click board
- Then double tap or long tap the visible message, and the Kibo keyboard app would reveal the secret chats in the chat in an understandable, readable format.
That’s how to use the WhatsApp secret chatting. With the Kibo app, you don’t have to worry about somebody invading or spying on your phone and see your chats. All messages sent and received via the locked Kibo app are converted to vanilla messages, which are un-decodable by anybody.
Note, however, that for you to use the WhatsApp secret chatting function, the Kibo app must be installed by you and the person you are sending the Kibo locked messages to. It is very easy to invited people to Kibo. Also note that at the moment, you can only send secret messages to only one WhatsApp recipient.
This is because the app is still very new and still undergoing in advancement. It is believed that in the future, people would be able to use the WhatsApp secret chatting with as many recipients as possible.
Hopefully, the app would arrive on the Android phone very soon, too.
