WhatsApp Block Profile Picture: How to Hide Your Profile Pic from One or More Contacts
There are two forms of blocking people from seeing your profile picture. The first form is by using the WhatsApp block profile picture feature of the WhatsApp app to prevent all your contacts from seeing your profile picture. The second is by using the feature to block one person or a selected group of people from seeing your profile picture.
The two forms will be covered in this post. But let’s start with the first form.
Blocking all your contacts from seeing your profile picture
The steps to using the WhatsApp block profile picture feature to block all your contacts is easy and straightforward. Just do as follow.
- Launch your WhatsApp app
- Then go to Settings, and then Account
- Then tap on Privacy
- Then tap on Profile Photo
- Then select Nobody
That’s it. The feature is now enabled, and nobody will ever be able to see your profile picture again.
Besides selecting “Nobody” in the setting, you can as well select “My Contacts.” When you choose the My Contacts option in the WhatsApp block profile picture feature setting, it is only the people whose phone numbers you saved would be able to see your profile picture.
Therefore, it’s another way of preventing people from seeing your WhatsApp profile picture.
Blocking one person or a group of people from seeing your profile picture
There are times you don’t feel like blocking everybody from seeing your profile picture. You just want to block one annoying person from seeing your DP. Here, I will show you how to do that using the WhatsApp block profile picture feature and a little tweak.
By default, WhatsApp doesn’t allow you to block one person or some selected persons from seeing your DP. That’s the reason, the standard WhatsApp block profile picture feature must be used with a tweak to achieve the aim.
These are the steps to blocking one person from seeing your WhatsApp profile picture.
- Launch your WhatsApp app
- Then go to Settings, and then Account, and then Privacy
- Then tap on Profile Photo
- Select My Contacts
- Then go to your contacts list and copy the name and phone number of the person you want to block.
- Paste the person’s name and phone number in a note app or any safe place on your phone
- Then delete the person’s from your contact list.
That’s it, the person wouldn’t see your WhatsApp profile pic again as you have set the WhatsApp block profile picture feature to only show your pic to your contacts. Because the person has been deleted from your contacts, he or she wouldn’t see your DP again. However, you will still be able to chat with the person.
To make the person see your DP again, just re-add the person to your contacts list.
