See the list of Android phones getting it the Android 8 Oreo Update

Starting from mid-August, the Android 8 Oreo Update will start hitting some selected Android phones, via OTA, and as expected, low-budget and mid-budget Android phones aren’t among the phones to receive this update.

In this post, I will be listing out all the phones that will be receiving this Update. The list is a long one, so may want to press Control + F Key and plug in the name of your phone in the search box, to find if your phone is on the list. I have also adopted a table of contents – you can use it to skip to the name of your phone maker.

To start with, let me share with you some of the Android Oreo features.

Android Oreo Features

  • Improved Customized Notification.
  • Improved Running of Apps.
  • Improved Power Server.
  • Fast Reboot Time.
  • Full Control over Background Apps.
  • Better Cache Handling.
  • Adaptive Icons.
  • Animate Clock Icon.
  • Several New Gestures.
  • New Keyboard Functionality.
  • Wi-Fi Aware (aka Neighbour Awareness Networking or NAN).
  • Advancement in Autofill and Password Management.

NB: Even though the Android 8, with the code name Android O, is widely called Android 8 Oreo, the OS hasn’t been officially named after Oreo; in fact, some people now believe it is going to be named Octopus because the latest beta version of the OS features an image of an Easter egg graphically modified to resemble an octopus.
