Microsoft Edge landed on Android. Now available for download on Play Store

Microsoft Edge has been the default browser for the Windows 10 ever since the first build of the OS; the aim was to replace the flopping Internet Explorer with a browser that can compete with the like of Chrome and Firefox. But by Microsoft’s announcement earlier this week that Edge is coming to iOS and Android, it appears the competition isn’t stopping at the Windows OS; it is also coming to Android and iOS.

And just a day after the announcement, Microsoft released the Edge browser on iOS, and now Microsoft Edge for Android has landed in the Play Store and now available for download.

Microsoft Edge for Android

At the moment, the Microsoft Edge for Android is still in the beta version but has some of the prominent features of the PC version. These features include the Reading List, Reading View, New Tab Page, among others. One really fascinating feature of the Microsoft Edge for Android is its ability to continue on PC.

This means if you are browsing on the Android version of the browser, you can continue from the page you are when you switch to the Microsoft Edge browser for PC. You don’t have to start all over.

But since the Microsoft Edge for Android is still in the beta version, not all the features in the PC version are available yet; the ones not available include Cortana integration, Adblocker, Syncing Tabs, and Extension.

Microsoft Edge for Android works on Android 4.4 KitKat and above; if you want to be among the first people to test out the beta version of the app, proceed to Play Store to download it. Just search for Microsoft Edge and tap on Install to install.
