The world now has a half terabyte-sized microSD – thanks to the UK firm Integral Memory. The new 512 GB microSD was recently unveiled, and by the plan, it will start shipping in February. Before now, the largest shipped microSD is 400 GB.
The new card is expected to work on Android phones, tablets and PC that already supports microSDXC, so if your device supports it, the 512 GB card would run perfectly on your device. In terms of transfer speed, the card sends data at 80MB/s, and that’s pretty good for recording and storing 4K videos.
The card will start selling in the UK in February, and hopefully, it will ship to other countries within a couple of months. No price has been announced for the card yet, but it’s likely to be more expensive than the 400 GB microSD card, which costs about $250.
When the card is finally available in the market, the fake is likely to be in the market too; so you may want to check out this post on how to detect a fake memory card.
