This experience is really terrible, and you can only wish it happens to the fiercest of your enemy — not even your average enemy.
But actually, you can recover unsaved word document, be it Word 2016, 2013, 2010 or the other earlier versions. Microsoft integrated a feature called Autosave in majority of the recent versions of the MS Word; so you can always recover unsaved Word document, even if you had never saved the document before.
In as much as you have started typing a document in MS Word, Autosave is implemented at regular interval in the document, and you can always recover the document if anything goes wrong. Now let’s see how to recover unsaved Word document 2016, 2013, 2010 and others.
How to Recover Unsaved Word Document 2016, 2013, 2010, etc
For I can’t be showing you how to recover a document in each and every version of MS Word, I will only be using one for this post. So I will be using MS Word 2013; the steps are the same in the other versions.
Recovering Unsaved Word Document 2013
- Start your version of MS Word and click on File, to go the MS Word Backstage.
- At the Backstage, ensure Info is the active tab, and click on Manage Versions.
- After clicking the Manage Versions, click on Recover Unsaved Documents, and a dialogue box containing previously unsaved buy phentermine online uk document will pop.
- In the dialogue box, click on the unsaved document and then on Open. The dialogue box can hold as many unsaved documents as possible, depending on how many job you did but didn’t save.

Limitation of Autosaves
By default Autosaves are done every 10 minutes, so when you mistakenly close a document, you are likely to lose everything you type in the last 10 minutes. However, you can change the Autosave settings and reduce it to something like 5 minutes, so that you don’t lose much.
How to Change Autosave Settings
- At the Backstage, click on Options and then on the Save tab.
- Find the section named Save documents, and change the Save AutoRecover information every to 5 minutes.
- Click OK, to complete the action.
