Windows 10 is the latest Windows operating system for PCs, but someone wants to give us a blast from the past by turning Windows 95 into an app. The old OS was turned into an app by Slack developer Felix Rieseberg, based on an existing web project that contains other Windows OSes including Windows 95, 98, etc.
Installing the Windows 95 app doesn’t require a bootable disk – and both PC and Mac are supported. To download the Windows 95 app, go to this link. The file is hosted on Github and is about 129MB. The supported OSes on which the Windows 95 app can install include macOS and Linux – and, of course, the recent Windows OSes, including Windows 10.
Apps such as Wordpad, MS Paint, and Minesweeper, which came pre-installed with the old Windows 95 are still available in the Windows 95 app.
If you want to feel old OS, download through the link and check it out.
