A couple of new products has been announced at the Xiaomin Mi Mix 2S event, but the product that caught the attention of people is the new Xiaomi’s Mi Gaming Laptop. The announcement of the laptop marked the entering of the OEM into the PC gaming machines production – and, impressively, the laptop features some decent specs.
The Xiaomi’s Mi Gaming Laptop comes with a 15.6-inch screen (which boast of Nvidia GTX 1060 graphics), 7th-generation Intel Core 7 processor, 16 GB RAM, 256 GB SSD, and 1 TB HDD. The gaming laptop is estimated to cost RMB 8,999, an equivalent of about $1,430, and the report has it that the laptop is likely to be sold only in China.
For those that would love to buy the laptop but mightn’t be able to afford the $1,430 price tag, it’s reported that the Xiaomi’s Mi Gaming Laptop would have a strip-down version. The version would maintain the 15.6-inch screen but come with Nvidia GTX 1050 Ti graphics, 8 GB RAM, and 128 GB SSD; the HDD would remain at 1 TB, too.
The price of the strip-down version hasn’t been announced, but it would definitely cost less than $1,430. At the moment, nobody knows if Xiaomi would change its mind and ship the gaming laptop to the other parts of the world.
