Airtel’s 4G LTE network finally rolls out. Now live in Lagos, Ibadan, and Ogun

The Airtel’s 4G LTE network was long overdue as the ISP’s competitors have forgotten rolling out the 4G network. In fact, it has been reported that MTN is already working on 5G. But never later than ever; the Airtel’s 4G is now visible in some states in Nigeria, starting from Lagos, Ogun, and Oyo state. Some users in the states have reported seeing the network connection on their phones.

The Airtel’s 4G LTE is on Band 3 (1800MHz), which is supported by almost all 4G-enabled smartphones. And it was reported that a speed test carried out in Ibadan on the network showed that its download speed is 28.45 Mbps and upload speed is 8.77 Mbps.

If you use Airtel and live in any of the three states mentioned above and have a 4G-enabled smartphone, try and switch your network to 4G and see if you will receive the connection.

Note that not all Airtel’s SIM support 4G by default. So you may want to go to the nearest Airtel outlet and swap your SIM for the one that supports 4G. Besides, it is reported that after the SIM swap, subscribers are given 4GB data to test run the network.
