Until September 6, 2017, Twitter night mode was available only on the Android and iOS Twitter app. Before then, to use Twitter night mode on PC, you will need to install Twitter Dark Mode extension for Chrome. The extension is pretty good and still works; it helps change the standard, bright Twitter theme to a dark theme that isn’t harmful to the eye at night.
The only disadvantage of the Twiter Dark Mode extension for Chrome is that, though it’s small in size, the extension still adds up to the total size of your Google Chrome. And if you are someone that already has a lot of Chrome extensions, you wouldn’t want to add more that will cluster your address bar and increase the size of your browser.
So the newly rolled out Twitter Night Mode on PC is a welcome development, and the aim of this post is to show you how to use the feature to activate night mode on the social network.
How to Activate Twitter Night Mode on PC (Twitter Dark Mode on PC)
What the new Twitter-dark-mode-on-PC feature does is to simply turn the white and light blue theme of Twiter into a dark and navy blue theme. It functions almost like the Twitter Dark Mode extension for Chrome.
Steps to Activating Twitter Night Mode on PC
- Login into your Twitter account.
- Locate your account option, towards the top right corner, and click on it.
- You will see your account option. Click on Night mode, to activate the Twitter Dark Mode on PC.
The Result
That’s how to activate Twiter night mode on PC. To deactivate the dark mode, go back to the option and click on the Night mode option again.
